What does liposuction cost?
So you’ve learned the magic of body contouring with liposuction and you’ve got a couple of areas in mind. Let’s talk about what you can expect when it comes to the cost of liposuction.
On average double chin liposuction costs between $3,000-$4,000, while stomach, love handles, and lower back could be $8,500-$11,000. And something like arm liposuction costs between $7,000-$8,000 on average.
But, the truth is your liposuction price will really depend on the number of areas being treated, your plastic surgeon, and your location.
Liposuction is a little tricky to give a flat, one-size-fits-all price because the treatment areas differ greatly in cost. For example, submental liposuction costs and neck liposuction costs are typically a lot less than a trunk or 360 liposuction procedure.
A little sticker shocked? The price tends to surprise people, but in reality, it’s a lot of physical work to perform liposuction. Plus, at Amelia Aesthetics, the price includes things like a compression garment and anesthesia fees, not just the surgical procedure.
Be sure to ask, “What’s included in the price?”
As we’ve talked about throughout the Bustmob Academy series, it’s important to understand what’s included in the cost. Because it does vary depending on the surgeon and practice.
At Amelia Aesthetics your price typically includes the following:
- One-on-one consultation
- All pre- and post-op appointments
- Surgeon and operating fees
- General anesthesia
- Compression garment
- Patient Care Coordinator
- Pre-op and recovery instructions
However, that isn’t the case for every plastic surgeon’s office so be sure to ask and know what is covered in your price or use Amelia’s instant online pricing tool to get the most up-to-date pricing. No one wants to be surprised with an anesthesia bill or operating fees down the road.
Outside of the procedure, there may be some other costs.
Keep in mind that outside of your liposuction treatment, you may have additional costs that pop up in the pre-op or post-op journey. For example, with those areas of stubborn fat permanently removed, you may find a wardrobe update is in order!
The Bustmob Community, a supportive space for women interested in plastic surgery, is always buzzing with fashion advice and links for must-have recovery items and favorite clothing to dress your new confidence once you’ve healed.
Things you may want to include in your budget are:
- Additional garments
- Supplements
- Arnica tablets for bruising and swelling
- Wedge and neck pillow
- Recovery clothing like button-up shirts and pull-on pants
- Stool softeners
- Lost wages from recovery time away from work
- Prescriptions and medications
- Pre-op lab testing

Pro tip: Add liposuction to another procedure.
It’s really common for people to add liposuction to another procedure like a tummy tuck or breast augmentation, which is why mommy makeovers have become so popular.
Not only because it makes for one recovery, but combining procedures tends to save on costs.
You’ll only have one general anesthesia fee and one surgeon’s fee. Plus, a lot of plastic surgeons will offer some kind of discount when you have more than one procedure done at the same time.
You can learn more about combining procedures with a mommy makeover in the free Bustmob Academy app.
